Appi Kogen is the largest ski resort in Tohoku, spread across two peaks — Maemoriyama and Nishimoriyama. Long, wide corduroy runs make up most of it, including the 5.5km Yamabato course from the summit all the way down to the village. For something rougher, the Nishimori and Sailer areas hold Appi's best tree runs and ungroomed powder zones.

Your five nights
A simple, unfussed shape to the week — the only fixed points are the welcome drink and the train times either end. Everything in between is yours.
- Shinkansen to Morioka — the bullet train from Tokyo Station, around 2hrs 10min. Get there early for an ekiben (station bento) from the basement food hall.
- Shuttle to Appi Kogen — meet the Appi shuttle at Morioka Station's west gate. A private transfer can be arranged on request.
- 15:00 check-in at ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen, plus ski rental fitting.
- 18:00 — LAWSKI Welcome Drinks. Meet the crew.
- Breakfast at the hotel (included), then a full day on the mountain. Night skiing runs Saturdays & Sundays if you want to keep going after dark.

Sitting at the heart of Appi Kogen with true ski-in, ski-out access, the hotel's landmark lemon-yellow tower is hard to miss against the highland scenery. 403 rooms across two buildings make it equally comfortable for couples, families, and groups.
Eight restaurants and bars span everything from a sushi counter to teppanyaki, much of it drawing on local Iwate ingredients like Maesawa beef and Sanriku seafood. There's a heated indoor pool, a gym, and large communal onsen baths said to be among the biggest open-air baths in the Tohoku region.

Yes — LAWSKI covers the Appi Kogen leg of the trip. You'll need your own flights into Tokyo, plus the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Morioka (around 2hrs 10min), which we can help you book.
Appi Kogen has terrain for every level, from wide beginner-friendly groomers to tree runs and CAT skiing for the more adventurous. The LAWSKI crew is a mixed-ability group — nobody's required to keep pace with anyone else.
Rental isn't included in the package price, but it's easy to arrange on arrival. Hotel guests receive discounted rental at the Appi Resort Centre, and there's a calmer Executive Lounge fitting option inside the hotel itself.
Yes — on-site CAT skiing is available for the more adventurous of the LAWSKI crew. Ask us for details and we'll get it arranged.
Yes. Single occupancy is AUD $2,518 per person, compared to AUD $2,062 per person twin-share.
A $500 AUD non-refundable deposit secures your spot. 50% of the remaining balance is due 4 January, with the final balance due 4 February.
