Fresh Tracks & Cherry Blossoms: Highlights from Japan's 2023/2024 Season

The very last of our 2023/2024 season snow travellers leave Japan today and while we’re in the thick of taking bookings for next season we thought it was worth taking a moment to reflect on this past northern hemisphere winter. The Snow Concierge team managed to sneak in three (!) Japan trips in the last few months, visiting new resorts as well as some old favourites.

We were on the ground this Japan ski season to greet several of our guests when they arrived at the ski fields and were even lucky enough to have a few runs with some of them. Whether they were after uncrowded groomers or waist deep powder, Japan delivered in spades again this season. And while it’s hard to choose a favourite day (we had so many good ones), there’s a powder day in Appi that will go down as all one of the all-time greats!

While a patch of warmer weather had many calling an early end to winter, some late dumps in March saw the Spring skiing crew get the goods. Even those clients in the snow this month were treated to beautiful conditions with the snow holding up especially well for this time of year – and they had the added bonus of a combination ski/ cherry blossom trip!

Interest for next year’s Japanese winter is high despite many resorts not having released Japan ski packages or pricing for next season. We have some great options already available though and anticipate having some excellent early bird specials in the next few weeks. So please get in touch if you’re keen to start thinking about your next Japan ski or snowboard trip.
