A Postcard From Fukuoka Japan

Konnichiwa from Japan.

What’s The Snow Concierge doing in Japan in Summer you may ask? Well one of the ‘toughest’ parts of our job is making sure we’ve tried and tested all the places in Japan that our clients want to visit, not just the ski resorts.

Many of our clients like to add on a week or two to a snow trip to explore other parts of Japan, so we’re on a two-and-a-bit week journey taking us across the country to get the low down on more fabulous hotels, restaurants, and activities to add to our little black book. It’s hard work but you guys are worth it…

While we’re spending a fair bit of our time in Tokyo (which is where most of you like to stay when you’re not at one of the amazing ski resorts we can recommend), we’ve also headed a little bit further afield with time spent in the regions around Fukuoka, Osaka (The Snow Concierge’s old home town) and Kanazawa.

We’ve added a bunch of new hotels and restaurants to our go-to list and can’t wait to share them with you. As well as visiting incredible sights, we’ve eaten some unbelievably good meals at local restaurants that you won’t hear about in any standard tour guide. We’re still dreaming about the meal we had at a little izakaya in the outskirts of Fukuoka and already planning a trip back…not to mention the fab sake bar in Kanazawa that we discovered.

We’re Tokyo bound right now, travelling at around 260km an hour on the Hakutaka Shinkansen (bullet train) which conveniently stops in the ski fields on the way between Kanazawa and Tokyo – perfect for a couple of days of sightseeing between ski resorts!

We’ve got some exciting exploring to do in Tokyo and will update you soon.

Peace, love and powder days. ❄️
